Spicy Chickpea Pizza

We’ve only got the “before” picture of the pizza. We went to John & Tracy’s after we made it and pretty soon, there wasn’t any left for an “after” photo op.

1 batch whole wheat honey pizza dough

1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas, lightly mashed

1 cup Daiya Mozzarella

1 large red pepper, sliced thing

2 cups fresh baby spinach or arugula, chopped

1 cup red onion, chopped

1/3 cup green onion, chopped

1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp sea salt

3/4 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp cayenne powder

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  • Spread out pizza dough onto baking sheet
  • Drizzle olive oil ontop of dough
  • Mix together all ingredients together EXCEPT cheese and toss well
  • Evenly distribute veggie/chickpea mix onto dough, then top with cheese
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 15-17 minutes

Delicious Comments...

  1. I will definitely be making this! I make my own whole wheat pizza dough too, but I have yet to try the Daiya cheese on pizza. I always make a tofu “ricotta”, but your recipe looks much easier. And I love my chickpeas!

  2. Daiya cheese is so easy and yummy! we never really use tofu, and we like that daiya is soy-free!

  3. We’re getting away from soy too, and I didn’t realize Daiya is soy-free! Thanks for mentioning it!

  4. Wow, this looks delish. I don’t blame you for not making it to an “after” photo. Chickpeas on pizza (or on anything/everything) FOREVER.. 🙂

  5. THEY ARE THE BEST! thanks for reading 🙂
