Cacao Coffee Smoothie

Prepare for alot of smoothie recipes the next few days! After creating a few new recipes for my demo yesterday, I have been on a smoothie kick.

Halfway though the summer, green smoothies started bothering me and upsetting my digestion. I’ve studied alot about food combining and I think I violated every rule with my green smoothies. Most of my daily drinks included fruits, greens, avocado and usually hemp, chia or cashews. Which all sound great. Super healthy. Except consuming them together is somewhat of a digestive nightmare.

I switched to granolas or gluten-free muffins for breakfast for awhile and things have been better. These smoothies are not necessarily ones I would recommend for daily meals, but they are a nice change-up for an afternoon snack or a breakfast-on-the-go.

And in case you hadn’t heard, I am somewhat of a coffee addict now. And what better way to enjoy my coffee than in a healthy smoothie?

3 frozen bananas, chopped

2 cups coconut milk, plus more to reach desired consistency

1 avocado

2 tbsp raw cacao powder

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 1/2 tsp instant coffee

  • Blend everything together and enjoy!
