Woodgrain Bagels

I love discovering vegan hidden gems in Boulder that no one seems to know about!

And Woodgrain Bagels might be the most wonderful place I’ve found since moving here.

I was initially just attracted to their lumberjack vibe, with lots of wood, axe and plant-y decor. They’ve got a warm, cozy, indoor space that makes you feel like you’re in a log cabin. Their outdoor seating is also perfect on sunny days and I’ve camped out here for countless hours!

As much as I love the space (and the staff!), I really just stay for the incredible food and coffee. There are roughly a MILLION coffee spots in Boulder, but Woodgrains is exceptionally good, for whatever unknown reason. But the food. The food, the food, the food.

I have been binging on their homemade Montreal-style bagels with non-dairy cream cheese for weeks now. Their bagels are chewier and denser than your average bagel, and have a more flavorful, wood-fired taste. I’m totally obsessed.

And guess what? Vegan cream cheese isn’t even the absolute best part!

They’ve also got mouth-watering, seitan bagel sandwiches that are piled high with arugula, tomatoes and vegan mayo and are the messiest/most delicious sandwiches ever. Paired with their crispy, salty, fried-to-perfection potatoes make this a lunch dream come true. They’ve also got some fancy avocado toast options, along with tempeh bacon that you can use in any sandwich. Oh! And they’e also got gluten-free bagels! And even though I love gluten, i truly appreciate that they have the option 🙂

In love yet? Check out their Boulder or Denver location and you will be soon!
