Alot of great things came from my trip to the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival this year. One of the best being sampling Biena Foods Roasted Chickpea Snacks!
Many of the vendors in attendance were from all over the country and served up delicious vegan goodies. Many of them being soy-based though, and not generally things I would buy for myself or eat on a regular basis. Don’t get me wrong, I stocked up on all the freebies, but was looking for more locally based companies that were offering snacks with minimal ingredients.
And so as I lugged my huge reusable bag out of the event, I was happy I made one last stop at the Biena Foods booth. I had seen lots of people mention their yummy roasted chickpea snacks on Twitter and wanted to try them out. I was instantly addicted and was really impressed with how great their reps at the festival were. They’re based in Cambridge too, which was an added plus. I always get really excited to meet Boston-based healthy, vegan companies that I can form a relationship with.
Their four flavors are absolutely delectable and are just as good, if not better, than the versions I make at home. Whether it be the Honey Roasted, Barbeque, Sea Salt or Cinnamon Maple, there’s a batch to satisfy every sweet tooth or salty craving. I found it REALLY difficult to try and choose a favorite! And even though I promised myself I would stash them away in my car for when I’m needing snacks on the go…I accidentally ate all four bags by the end of the first day. What can I say? They are THAT good!
And yes, I realize the Honey Roasted ones are not technically vegan. But we know my take on honey. The few other ingredients in the snacks are completely vegan and gluten-free though-make sure to treat yourself to a bag-or four!
