Dear Provincetown,
I love you.
I am not a Cape person. Though everyone in the Boston area may migrate there during the summer, I tend to stick to my Rhode Island and Gloucester beaches. Nothing about the Cape has ever really appealed to me. Especially not the traffic. I don’t envision a younger crowd, lots of bars and activities twentysomethings would be interested in doing.
But Ptown. Man, Ptown is all of the above and more, which I recently discovered on a camping trip with one of my best friends.
The nightlife? Absolutely incredible. The people? Insanely friendly. The bars? Entertaining and vibrant. The shopping? Phenomenal.
But the food. Outside of the plethora of lobster and seafood spots, Provincetown harbored some of THE BEST vegan food and juices I have ever had. EVER.
And nothing was better than my experience at a vegan haven known as 141 Market. With a hot vegetarian buffet, juice bar, locally made vegan and gluten free baked goods and an entire, quaint health food store inside, it was easily my favorite part of our entire trip. Even my friend-who is there furthest thing from vegan-salivated over their wraps, snacks and smoothies and ended up binging on more of their treats than me. I had the pleasure of enjoying one of their fresh green juices and an AMAZING smoky tempeh bacon wrap, which I’m in the works of recreating. I can’t get it out of my head! The staff was friendly, the store itself is adorable, modern and bright and is adorned with health quotes.
I have no problem making the 2 1/2 hour drive here every weekend just to enjoy 141!
