We all know I am a big fan of anything nut butter-based. Peanut, cashew, almond, walnut…I’ll take them all!
That being said, I tend to go overboard when smearing almond or peanut butter all over everything, knowing that they are SUPER high in fat and calories. And even though fat and calories are super important, I do recognize that consuming half a jar of almond butter a day MIGHT be pushing it a little. Especially when you consider all the avocado and coconut oil I eat, too!
And that’s why I’m digging Better Body Foods PBFit powdered peanut butters. All the flavor, same consistency, but with less calories, less fat and NO added sketchy ingredients! These seemingly magical powders come in original peanut butter or PB chocolate flavor and simply replace regular, fatty nut butters by adding water. A 2:1.5 ratio of powder to water creates exact;y the same flavor and texture as any nut butter, without some of the guilt!
I’ve been using these replacements everywhere. From everything to PB & J to last weeks almond butter hummus, to smoothies, desserts and parfaits. They are completely interchangeable and one little jar goes a LONG way, compared to regular nut butters. Check out some of my creations using these magnificent powders!
They also make an amazing superfood smoothie blend that is absolutely loaded with fruits and veggies and is a perfect additive to smoothies, when you’re lacking in stocked produce. Each serving contains 1 1/2 bunches of broccoli, 2 cups of blueberries, 1 1/2 tomatoes AND 6 grams of vegan protein! And a nice, neutral color, so that whatever else you’re adding to the smoothie isn’t overpowered, by a weird tone, like a lot of other powders I’ve tried. Two scoops have been going into my smoothie bowls and you can’t even tell the difference 🙂
