Though there are plenty of vegan only restaurants in Denver, but one of my absolute favorites is not strictly plant-based. And for a vegan to love a non-vegan spot over places like Watercourse or City O’ City (I still love you both though), must mean their meat-free options must be reallllllly amazing.
And yes. Fire on the Mountain is the MOST amazing.
I’ve been to Fire on the Mountain numerous times over the past two years, because I’m obsessed with their seitan wings, creative sauces, tater tots and crispy cauliflower wings. Their beer is great, the service is outstanding and it’s a prime spot to watch football any day of the week. But there was only one thing they were always lacking…vegan ranch. Their insane line of homemade sauces range from things like Jamaican jerk, raspberry habanero, bourbon chipotle and super hot. And you can’t be eating all these spicy wings without ranch, right? I used to bring a bottle of my own, as I’m no stranger to bringing my old almond milk, Kite Hill cream cheese or Miyoko’s cheese to places so restaurants can sub those items in my meals.
BUT NOW! FOTM has added a few really stellar vegan items to their menu, and we can all rejoice in the fact that they now have vegan ranch! Game-changer, right? I am so stoked that I no longer have to worry about remembering to bring a bottle of ranch in my bag every time I go out to eat. Because truly, wings are just not the same without it.
And for the next two weeks, you need to rush on over there and try out their other incredible options they’re currently test-running. They’ve cranked out a superb, super smokey potato salad that’s bursting with flavor, and certainly doesn’t even taste dairy-free. But the real MVPs are their incredible selection of Impossible burger options. Not only do they have a standard burger, but they also have a killer chili. Though it’s not vegan, they are also offering an Impossible quesadilla. I have yet to really see the Impossible burger many places in Denver at all, so I will forever be grateful to FOTM for having such an open mind and catering to their vegan audience. They pride themselves on being a “YEStaraunt” and adhering to what their clientele wants, so let them know that you want these delicious options to stick around.
Get over to Fire on the Mountain as soon as you can, let them know how awesome they and tell them I sent you 🙂 And whatever you do, make sure you try their PB and J seitan wings-an order of their raspberry habanero wings, paired with their Thai peanut wings-match made in heaven. Thursday nights are always $2 off their meatless fare, so you’re going to want to take advantage of that!
