I know what you’re thinking. “Lisa, there’s a million vegan protein bars floating out there around in the world. If I’ve tried one, I’ve tried them all”.
And though MOST of them are similar, there is just something uniquely delicious about these exotically flavored Mezcla Bars, that are low in sugar, super high in clean sources of protein and downright delectable.
All their flavors-Japanese Matcha Vanilla, Peruvian Cocoa Peanut Butter and Mexcican Chipotle Hot Chocolate taste alot like a high-end rice crispy treat, coated in some form of chocolate. Dream come true, right? What makes them even better is the ingredients list which totes such nutritional powerhouses like chickpeas, quinoa, amaranth, chicory root and pumpkin seeds. Based on the uber healthy contents, I expected them to not taste as sweet and dessert-y as they do. They were the perfect airplane treat and post-run reward on a recent trip I took to Memphis and I only wish I took more with me.
They’ll be my new hiking buddy now that I’m back home in Denver, and I’m thrilled to have such an exceptionally delicious, high-protein bar to take with me from here on out.
