The other day, I got an email reminder to renew my domain subscription.
My what now?
I have a domain?
Oh, yeah, that’s right. I used to blog!
So here I am. Who knows if anyone else is. I don’t blame you if you’ve forgotten about me, too.
I actually do have lots of recipes and product reviews lined up. And classic Lisa, life just always seems to get in the way. How do y’all do it? Handle life, jobs, relationships, keeping plants alive, cooking food, doing laundry, juggling houses, babies, all the things? These past 6 months in Boston have been a blur. Sometimes swimming in a sea of endless comfort of my family and friends who’ve known me my whole life, clients I’ve loved for many years, and enjoying how beautiful summer in the city can be. I fell back into cooking in shitty, tiny Back Bay kitchens, managing my old lifeguarding job, nannying for all my friends, maintaining Denver Community Fridges remotely, all while trying to remember to drink water, shower and BREATHE most days.
And sometimes I want to drop everything and go. It’s incredibly difficult to feel like you’ve grown at all, when you’re back in your childhood town. Amidst the heavy therapy sessions, frustrations with being stagnant here and my old 36-year-old body struggling to keep up with my 26-year-old work ethic/lifestyle, I find myself really ready for the next chapter, and have NO idea what it will look like.
I miss traveling and cooking. I miss my old life, where I busted my ass cooking for a few weeks at a time and then had the freedom to do whatever I wanted in between. Yoga retreats and cooking for bigger parties is definitely on my radar, so if you’ve got any connections there, let me know!
Apologies for the “dear diary”-esque update. I swear more food is coming soon. I’m also toying with the idea of starting a hiking/camping/adventure blog, because that is truly where I feel the most alive some days. For those of you who DON’T follow me on Instagram and see all my travels/food, A. you should follow me (@willhikeforavocados and @eatfckingplants and B. you missed my most recent and LONGEST camping trip. I spent a week hitting all three national parks in Washington and it was disgustingly beautiful.
Here’s a few photos, just to confirm I’m actually alive and well. Or at least alive 😉
