Jamberry Nails-Cruelty-Free!

Well, well, well…what do we have here?

For the first time, EVER, I’m posting about something that ISN’T food. But, it is still all about veganism and animal-friendly products.

Any vegan will probably tell you what one of the hardest parts of this lifestyle is. OTHER than giving up cheese (or maybe that’s just me?). No, one of the toughest aspects of veganism is finding really great, body care and beauty products. Though the options seem to be steadily growing, it ain’t always easy to find good quality make-up, shampoo or nail polish that doesn’t cost a fortune, is void of animal products or animal testing and isn’t full of crap chemicals. I’ve done a pretty good job of finding some bargain items in the make-up department (see, The All Natural Face), but have struggled with my nails. I’ve found some great options-like LVX, but they are too pricey for my simple, rather un-girly style. I’ve found some cheap0 polishes at Wal-Mart for $3 (FLOWER), but they’re loaded with terrible, toxic additives.

So you can imagine my excitement over learning about Jamberry Nails. Not only are they vegan, virtually chemical-free and gluten-free (for someone who eats nails?), but they’re insanely cute and are a moderate price. Sign me up!

At first, they seemed a little complicated to put on, but after a few nails, they’re incredibly easy. Just warm up-even with a hair dryer if you want- stick onto desired nail, wait for it to set and then clip and cut to desired length. I can’t even describe how many awesome designs they have, so you need to take my word for it and just check them out. But my faves tend to be the nautical and floral designs, in care you were wondering.

Wana try them for yourself? I know you do! Contact my local rep, Ashley Erin here or shoot her an email at ash.erin.jam@gmail.com and tell her The Vegan Pact sent you!

  1. It’s great to know that they are vegan(and the fact that I don’t have to wait for them to dry because I am skilled at mussing up polish), but I am surprised at the belief that good vegan polish is expensive. I quite like Zoya, a single bottle is cheaper than a pack of Jamberry nails, and you can get many more uses out of it.

But it’s certainly a LOT cheaper than getting a manicure every few weeks and you can ensure it is vegan- you can get a bunch shipped to your house meaning you don’t have to drive(just the postman’s normal route) meaning it’s potentially more environmentally friendly than that option too. BUT there is a lot of plastic in the packaging, but perhaps even less than in a polish bottle, so there’s a lot of factors to consider. 😛

  2. Gluten free is important because people with true gluten allergies shouldn’t even touch it. Great for people in the food service industry and nurses! And of course if you have Celiac disease you don’t want gluten on your fingers when you’re eating or preparing your food, or ever really. Great article! I’m sort of addicted to Jamberry. I am not vegan but I avoid any products tested on animals!
