Toats Oat Milk

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably noticed that oat milk is THE new plant-based milk.

Step aside cashews. Almonds. Coconuts. Soy. Oat milk is here, and it’s freaking delicious.

Of all the nut/seed milks out there, oat is actually the one that I’ve always struggled with when trying to make it at home. It gets gummy, slimy and downright disgusting looking. It separates easily, and although it always makes the creamiest smoothies, my homemade variations were never good for anything else.

And then Oatly took over the world. It was everywhere. Then it was NOWHERE because every store couldn’t keep up with the demand. Everyone was hooked on the oats and then we couldn’t find it! In recent weeks, Oatly seems to have stepped up their production and it’s basically in every coffee shop. However, my friends and I noticed a big issue with it, as we saw it stocked in stores.

The ingredients.

Rapeseed oil is the second ingredient. OIL! Why?! We were instantly turned off. And while we were OK to still splurge on it every once in awhile, because it makes for great coffee, I didn’t want to buy it for my own kitchen.

So that’s why I’m extra, extra grateful for yet another local company, who’s crushing the plant-based game. And doing so with clean ingredients! Toats Oats Company is churning out a similarly delicious oat milk compared to Oatly, but with a much better product recipe. Their oat milk is creamy, rich, flavorful, and subtly sweet, without the nasty separation I’ve experienced in my homemade oat milk. Every bottle contains just organic oats, dates, water and pure vanilla. HEAVEN.

I’ve been messing around with coffee recipes at home, and I’m loving using Toats in my cold brew and lattes, and it’s also saving me a ton of money. Where most vegan milks separate and curdle when added to hot beverages, Toats keeps it’s creaminess and doesn’t coagulate in coffee, which I truly appreciate. I’ve also used it for oatmeal, pancakes, any baking recipe and it works beautifully. I’m a huge fan, and hope you will be, too! Order some for yourself here and be on the lookout for it at local shops around Denver and Boulder 🙂
