Mortal Kombucha

Listen, ya’ll. This is the best f*cking kombucha you will ever drink.

Mortal Kombucha is not only bad ass because of it’s Mortal Kombat theme. Or because of all their amazing swag, stickers and pins that 80’s kids will lose their minds over. They’re bad ass because they have the most insanely delicious and unique flavors of booch I’ve ever had. With less carbonation, less vinegar taste, less sugar and more punch than any other brand. Not to mention it’s local to Boulder and almost totally organic.

Their five most common flavors are Chillflower, Marg Simpson, Black Sage, Power Melon and Dem Apples, and are stocked almost everywhere in Colorado, like Lucky’s, Whole Foods and smaller, local markets. They’ve also got more elusive (but still amazing) flavors like Black Magic (it’s got charcoal!), Hibiskiss, The Ginger, Napalm-Egranate and Apearantly It’s Love. Are those not the most fun names ever?!

If I HAD to choose, I think I’d say my favorite flavors are Marg Simpson and Black Sage. But check ’em all out for yourself below, and check their website to find where you can pick up a bottle (or 10) of your own!

BLACK SAGE: I’m big on anything blackberry-based as it is. Add to it, sage and ginger, and you’ve got a real winner in my eyes. This one always tastes the most invigorating and uplifting to me, and so it’s my MK booch of choice!

Marg Simpson: Definitely a front runner for the best name, The Marg is a fun mix of spirulina and citrus juices, without the usual, gross, syrupy taste that comes along with a typical margarita mix. But it’s still killer if you mix in a little tequila. How could you ever resist that color?!

Dem Apples: Because who wouldn’t love a kombucha named after Good Will Hunting? This Boston girl obviously does. I think this will be my favorite come the fall, as it’s tart apple and cinnamon flavor makes it perfect and refreshing for autumn.

Power Melon: THIS is my summer jam though. Light, airy, thirst-quenching and perfect for the pool, Power Melon is both hydrating and tasty. (Also great as a mojito base-just saying!).

Chillflower: This liquefied bouquet of flowers is my favorite to drink in the evening. It’s super calming and mellow and is the perfect way to end the day.
