Pan’s Mushroom Jerky Review AND Giveaway

If you know me, you know that mushrooms are by FAR, by least favorite vegetable.

I know, I know, they’re soooo good for you! And I don’t totally hate them in the form of crispy shroom bacon or blended into a soup, sauce or gravy. But overall, their slimy texture and earthy flavor, is a major turn off for me.

But apparently, smoky, dehydrated mushrooms are MORE than fine by me! I am so in love with the chewy, bold-flavored, mushroom jerky from Pan’s. And I love it so much, I’m giving away a sample case for one lucky winner!

These gluten-free, organic jerkys have been optimal for savory snacking on long hikes and I’ve been sharing them with my non-vegan friends, who are equally as into them as I am. I usually go for seitan-based jerky, but these ones are obviously far superior in the health department, and I love knowing that I’m chomping on veggies while summiting mountains. The texture is super legit and quite a few people have questioned whether or not it was actually mushrooms upon first bite. It pulls apart really well, and has the same look, taste and smell as regular jerky. Score! Their shiitake mushroom flavors range from original, salt and pepper, applewood BBQ and zesty Thai.

See how I used each of them and then make sure to enter my giveaway below and try them for yourself 🙂

APPLEWOOD BBQ

Definitely my favorite among the bunch, this applewood BBQ has the boldest flavor and is the most reminiscent of non-vegan jerky. It’s smoky flavor made it so that I ate the entire bag in one sitting. I really enjoyed making some fancy avocado toast with it and it was absolutely delicious!

ORIGINAL

I found this one to have the best texture, though I’m not really sure why. It added a beautiful flavor profile to my favorite kale Caesar salad, and I topped my salads with it all week long and couldn’t get enough of it!

SALT & PEPPER

The salt and pepper was my go-to choice for just basic snacking. I’m a sucker for anything heavy in pepper, and this jerky truly delivered. It would be great over soups and salads, too, but just too delectable for that type of self-control to not just eat it right out of the bag!

ZESTY THAI

For whatever reason, I didn’t totally love this one. My friends REALLY did though on a super long hike, so I decided to be generous and give them the bag. Which is still a huge endorsement, because the people who brought meat-based jerky on that trek, wanted my mushroom version instead!
