Let me introduce you to my favorite savory hiking snack.

It’s hard to believe I’m coming up on two years living in Boulder. What the WHAT? I blinked and it’s passed by. It’s all been insanely beautiful, incredibly important for my personal growth and has changed my life forever. I’m learning more about myself here than I ever did in the past 30 years in Boston, and much of that is due to all the traveling, camping and, of course, hiking I do here, that is constantly pushing me to both my physical and mental limitations.

And so, hiking snacks are real, REAL important. Because plain old bars or chips just don’t cut it most of the time. And now that I’ve been hiking for quite some time, I know that it’s SUPER important to have lots of sodium on the trails. Which, I’m a savory/salty snacker anyways, so I didn’t need much convincing on that front. But having salted snacks makes me feel MUCH better on even the longest trails, and Oh Snap Pickles are the perfect option.

I initially had the dill pickles when we were backpacking the Grand Canyon a few months ago and they were an absolute lifesaver! And so delicious. Because if you know me, you know I obsess over a good pickle.

Oh Snap! has single serving pouches, that are lightweight and ideal for minimal backpack packing. Aside from whole pickles, they have pickled carrots, pickled snap peas, pickled green beans, pickled jalapenos and spicy pickle slices. They’re all so yummy, kind of thirst quenching and super refreshing, especially during these hot Boulder hikes I’ve been doing recently. And the flavors! Especially the dill pickle and the hot pickles slices, are out of this world!
