Raw Chocolate Avocado Mousse

I will start this recipe post by listing  the terrible thing about this raw vegan dessert.

IT ONLY MAKES ABOUT A CUP AND A HALF.

Seriously. I almost wept when I tasted a bit and realized I would have to show some self control if I wanted to enjoy this unbelievable dessert for a few days. Although, I could just throw caution to the wind and inhale the whole batch tonight…

With it’s velvety texture and rich flavor, this could easily be on of the most decadent desserts we’ve ever made. And possibly the healthiest, which makes it even harder to resist. Damn you mousse, why do you have to be so addictive!? It reminds me of our Chocolate & Vanilla Avocado Pie, except with a deeper, more sophisticated taste.

Can tastes be sophisticated? Not sure, but I feel a little fancy when I eat this. Even if I’m scarfing it down in my pjs before I go to bed.

3 ripe avocados

1/3 cup pure honey, agave or other liquid sweetener

1/3 cup raw cocoa powder

3 tbsp organic coconut oil

1 tsp pure vanilla

  • Pulse all ingredients together in a food processor until creamy. Enjoy!

  1. Hi, chocolate avocado mousse is great, even the avocado hating son ate it. I did however add the grated rind of an orange which just changed its flavour slightly.

  2. Awesome! Chocolate and orange go so well together-glad you paired them up for this dessert!
