Peachy’s Superfruit Cafe

Up until now, Boulder has fairly been lacking in the smoothie department. We’ve got Thrive and Wonder which I LOVE, but other than that, it’s come up empty for the most part in terms of really stellar juice and smoothie bars.

So I am overly thrilled, that Peachy’s Superfruit Cafe has just opened off Pearl Street!

Their space alone makes me want to camp out there all day. From their sleek, wood finishes and mostly white walls and accents, to their cactus and pineapple decor, they’re an absolutely ideal set up for snapping the best social media pics.

And you’re gonna want to take millions of photos of their nutrient-dense, super delicious, smoothie bowls, if you’re anything like me.

This cute cafe, hits all the right notes, with their build-your-own-bowl option, that lets you pick your granola and toppings atop their pre-made bases. With options like beet bowls, pitaya bowls, green bowls, spirulina bowls and kiwi bowls, choosing just one proves to be REALLY tough. And then you’ve got to choose between their hearty granola options, and their large assortment of fruit, nut and coconut toppings! They’re also got honey AND agave for bowl finishing perfection, that really brings the whole thing together.

After pondering my options for an eternity, I finally decided upon a spirulina bowl with coconut, mango and strawberries and a pitaya bowl with blackberries, almonds and peaches. I can’t describe to you how satisfying, sweet and beautiful these bowls were! The pitaya bowl was a stunning, pink hue that let you know it was going to be really juicy and full of fruit flavor. The blackberries, peaches and almonds were the perfect toppers and I loved having all the different elements and textures in each bite. It was VERY sweet, and since I’m used to having lots of greens in my smoothies, the spirulina bowl was much more my style. Don’t get me wrong, the pitaya is a prime choice, especially for people who are just getting into smoothies or smoothie bowls, I’m just used to kale-heaviness. Which was why the less-photogenic spirulina version, was my favorite. My taste buds picked up on the green-ness of it, and it instantly felt like the healthier choice. Topping it with mango, strawberries and coconut still gave it a nice added touch of sweetener, which made for a super well-balanced bowl.

In addition to being totally impressed with the food and the space, I am completely blown away by the fact that this spot is being run by two 21 year olds! Lauren Jacobsen and Jason Lorenz are the masterminds behind Peachy’s and both passionate about healthy eating and creating the best smoothie bowls to the people of Boulder. I couldn’t be happier these two set up shop in my neighborhood 🙂 Go get your smoothie bowl today and tell them I sent you!
