Bona Fide Bites and Chocolate Cherry Smoothie Bowl

Farmer’s market season has really peaked here in Boulder! It’s basically a weekly holiday, and the whole town celebrates downtown every Wednesday and Saturday with local produce, food trucks, music, breweries, yoga and delicious homegrown products.

And though I love the influx of Colorado corn, peaches, kale, zucchini and tomatoes pouring out of the market right now, Bonafide Bites are continuously one of my favorite treats.

Crafted by Kathryn Kelley (potentially the sweetest vendor at the market, as well!), these sweet little orbs are packed with simple, plant-based flavor and nutrition, that keeps me coming back for more. These cookie dough-esque balls are composed of nothing but dates, nuts, seeds and spices, but they’re loaded with A LOT of flavor. And all their flavors are super addictive like Pumpkin Spice, Toasted Coconut, Snickerdoodle, Lemon Poppyseed, Vanilla Chai, Cookie Dough, and my personal fave, Chocolate Cherry. Because nothing compliments cherry season like adding chocolate into the mix.

For my local friends, PLEASE swing by Kathryn’s booth at the Wednesday market and grab a bag of these yummy bites! And for all my non-local friends, wait for her to start shipping them nationally and enjoy this chocolate cherry smoothie bowl recipe in the meantime!
